Do Not Worry, Worship!

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  Matthew 6:32-37

Struggles and temptations will come in the life of Christian! There is no doubt about that.
When going through struggles in life, focus on Christ, He is right besides you leading you through his Holy Spirit. God promises to never leave us or forsake us.

Come to God, humble yourself as you are, there is none rightetoues, not one, we are all sinners. It is through only Jesus Christ, who has paid the ultimate price to give us life. Tell God all your anxieties, struggles, weaknesses, and He will give you rest.

Do what you need to do to get your heart right with God. He will satisfy your soul.

It is God who Sustains Me

" I have upheld you since were conceived and have carried since your birth. Even to your old age and grey hairs, I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and will carry you." Isaiah 46:3-4

Amen!  Our God is an awesome! I can testify that when I am exhausted, broken hearted, or just tired of living here on earth, I can go to my God and cast all worries, all my fears to Him.

I am on the pre-medical path, and nearly everyday is a struggle. Everyday is filled tough material to learn, studying, focusing in lecture. Just the fact that only about 2% of students get, causes a great stress on my mind. What do the 98% end up doing?

Jesus is my peace. He has led me up to here, and He will keep me going where his will is. He is the vine we are the branches. We will bear good fruit if we abide in Him.

I have learned to stop caring what other people think about you. Care about God's standerds, you will give an anwer to him, not other people.

TRUST IN HIM! MY GOD WILL SUSTAIN ME!

At the end of my life I want to be able to say as apostle Paul: " I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

The Narrow and the Wide Gates

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it" Matthew 7:13

I read this passage this morning and it placed a nervousness in my heart, not because I have doubt in my salvation, but because there are so many people who don't know Christ and power and life given by the gospel. As daily life continues, there is so much that distracts, and as busy as life gets, we must have our priorities straight. Don't cut away time from your daily meditation or devotion.

Few verses later, Jesus talks about living out the gospel in practical terms. He is ending his sermon on the mount which he gives laws on how to live for God, what God really wants from us. We must not only follow his 10 commandments, but honor him with our hearts. For example, "You have hear that it was said, ' Do not commit adultery. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a women lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matthew 5:27-28.

“Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Samuel 16:7

I highly recommend everyone to read and live out the sermon on the mount. Matthew chapter 5-7

Sow, and you will reap a plentiful harvest

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Matthew 7:24-27

There is no point of reading the Bible if you do not apply it to your daily life! Use it, it is powerful!

Have a great week everyone!

Get Right With God Right Now

God is sovereign. God is almighty! God is Good!

As I went for my run last night to clear my mind of many thoughts running through my mind, God reminded me this message:

Get right with him today!!! We don't know what moment will be our last. Sometimes I catch myself living I'm indestructible,as I will live forever. The older I get, the faster time flies by. I'm 20 years old...really??? Two decades! However the Bible says tomorrow is not guaranteed. Psalm 103:15 reminds us "Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die."We live for a brief moment, and return back to dust. How important it should be to know our creator and get right with him.

Jesus preaches:

Matthew 13:44
"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."

The kingdom is of such great value that one should sell all that he has in order to gain it. But this does not imply that one can purchase the kingdom with money or deeds.

WE ARE SAVED BY AMAZING GRACE

God loves you! He delights in you no matter how much we failed him. In the parable of the prodical son, even when the son has left the father with his birthright of money, ands spends its wastefully living for himself and his passions alone. Luke 15:
17 says:
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him..."

God longs for a personal relationship with you. He wants you to know him and live for him!

In the end we will all have to give account to God, he cannot be mocked, nothing is hidden from him. Our thoughts, motives, He knows everything about us. Get right with him today! If you haven't spoken with him in years, start now.
He will complete his work in you till the very end.

Here is a few awesome songs to enjoy your weekend to. Be blessed! Grow in Christ!

I find John Piper's messages full of truth and get much out of them. I have bought one of John Pipers books- Desiring God, and I'll be sharing what I get out of it when it comes and I can start reading it:)

P.S. I hope to write much more often, now that I have free time (a bit too much at times I get overwhelmed)

God Bless

Don't Worry, Worship

"If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." James 1:5

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean on not on your understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

"The Lord is Good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knoweth them that trust Him." Nahum 1:7

Guys I dont fully understand God's grace; but I know it amazing and enough to save me and renew me day by day.

Hold on to His Promises....He is our creator, our Father, he stays true to His Word.

Be blessed!

Walking In Integrity

Hey guys, I want to share on a topic God has been teaching me recently:
I have combined my thoughts with Chuck Swindle Notes: See his complete notes here

What is Integrity?

Three definitions from dictionary.com:
1.adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
2.the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished: to preserve the integrity of the empire.
3.a sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition: the integrity of a ship's hull.
Integrity means to be sound. The Hebrew word for integrity is "tom"- which means to be complete or solid. Integrity is completely finishing a job when no one is looking, It is not  to compromise, to be faithful when circumstances change...It also means keeping promises to people who you have promised. It is walking the talk....You do what you say. Your actions are consequences of your faith and words.
It is directly opposite of hypocrisy...I believe this is the number one thing that discourages unbelievers from seeking God. If a believers say many wonderful things on  Sunday morning church,  but Monday through Saturday when they don't go out and do it, and/or live a dual lifestyle, are they really believers? The bible says "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive  yourself. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continuous to do this, not forgetting what he has heard but doing it- he will be blessed in what he does." (James 1:22-25) Amen my brother James!!!
Integrity is many times the behind the scenes...people may not notice it, but God does. It  build humbleness...We did not deserve the cross, nevertheless, Christ died for us.
God sees our heart...nothing is hidden from him. One day we will give account of our lifes and everything we have done.

Integrity build character. Integrity is rock-like. It won’t crack when it has to stand alone, and it won’t crumble though the pressure mounts. Integrity keeps one from fearing the white light of examination or resisting the exacting demands of close scrutiny. It’s honesty at all costs.
Integrity is having the guts to tell the truth, even if it may hurt to do so. Integrity is having the guts to be honest, even though cheating may bring about a better grade. Integrity is giving credit to people who deserve it.
But there are some things integrity is not. It is not sinless perfection. A person with integrity does not live a life absolutely free of sin. No one does. But one with integrity quickly acknowledges his failures and doesn’t hide the wrong.

It takes real guts to stand strong with integrity in a culture weakened by hypocrisy. Start today.
Be Blessed,
David
